Questions & Answers about Ambassadors

Q. The number of orphans is overwhelming. How can Ambassadors possibly meet this great need?
A. Of course not all children can be rescued. However to those who are, their destiny both on earth and for eternity can change. Christ ministered to some and not all those with needs during His earthly ministry. We are trusting God to give wisdom to us as we endeavor to minster to the orphaned children of the world.

Q. Does Ambassadors only work with orphans?
A. No. Ambassadors plans to meet people where they are, to help them in their situations by building spiritual foundations through biblical teaching. Ambassadors will use the appropriate means to motivate an acceptance of and desire for those things that will lessen the pain and suffering for the orphans and people within the community.

Q. Is South Africa the only country suffering from the AIDS pandemic and that has a significant number of orphans?
A. No. All of sub-Saharan Africa suffers from this pandemic. Ambassadors established its first children’s home and outreach to the community in South Africa.

Q. Isn’t Ambassadors International Ministries simply a social gospel?
A. James 1:27 is clear that true religion that is acceptable to God the Father is “to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” Our goal is to meet not only the children’s physical needs but to teach them how to remain pure… “unspotted from this world”… free from HIV.

Q. Is church planting a part of your ministry?
A. Yes, as the Lord provides personnel. We endeavor to help local national pastors build new churches and grow existing churches where people can be trained and equipped to reach their community for Christ, thus stemming the tide of AIDS.

Q. Aren’t you taking these children out of their culture?
A. Although we are taking the children out of their community, the homes will be culturally sensitive by creating an environment that is quintessentially African.

Q. What is one way that you will help the community?
A. Ambassadors will help the communities in which we work by creating self-sustainability through a variety of income-generating projects which will not only help the local economy through the creation of jobs, but also help teach people a skill for life.

Q. Why don’t the extended families care for the orphans?
A. Many do, however a number of the adult family members are also dying of AIDS. This is the lost generation. Often grandmothers are caring for their grandchildren, but caring for these young ones is a tremendous responsibility physically and financially. Many grandmothers are overwhelmed and not able to do this.

Q. Will children in the homes be HIV positive or already have AIDS?
A. While our primary target is children not yet infected with the virus, we realize that we must be prepared to minister to both infected and affected children. For example, we do not separate siblings. There is a large majority of children that are not HIV positive.

Q. If I make a donation to Ambassadors, is it tax deductible?
