Click here to view the official “Thank You” letter from the Pines.

“Let them praise the name of the Lord: for His name alone is excellent; His glory is above the earth and Heaven.” Psalm 148:13

We truly do serve an awesome and omnipotent God. It is with humble and grateful hearts that we tell you that through your prayers and generosity, the Lord supplied the Pines Christian Care Center with a mini bus. Two months ago, in October, the Pines’ bus was stolen. This disheartening event was detrimental to the transportation needs at the Pines. By the grace of God, on December 22, the Pines was able to purchase a new mini bus. We cannot thank you enough for making this much needed purchase possible through your gracious giving and prayers.

Click for a larger view.

It seems appropriate that the first official trip made with the mini bus was transporting the children to church on Christmas day. With Pastor Manaka driving and the children dressed to perform their Christmas program, they made their way into the Thabong Township to the Thabong Baptist Church. On Christmas morning, the church family and the Pines family rejoiced together, celebrating God’s greatest gift, as well as His gift to The Pines.

We are truly grateful for God’s wonderful gift. We are extremely thankful to each of you that participated through prayer or giving. May the Lord bless each of you as we begin a new year of serving Him.

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice.” Philippians 4:6

Power is ours. Today I don’t “think I can, think I can…” but I do know that God can! “I knew He could, I knew He could…” Let this be our motto today as we go forth to glorify Him today in all we do. It requires us to stop our focus on ourselves and to change our focus to God. He is the source of all our power. What is found in us is never sufficient for the spiritual tasks at hand. When we forget this simple principle we find ourselves leaning on the weak arm of flesh. Why do that when God’s power is right there waiting for us? Let us use His power today.

Summer is usually a time of transition and this summer has proved to be no different. Because of some significant changes taking place at The Pines Christian Care Centre, we feel led to provide you, our faithful supporters, this SPECIAL EDITION. We are looking forward to what God has in store for AIMI and the ministry at The Pines Christian Care Centre as we continue to seek His will in the days ahead.

We would encourage all of our supporters affected by this time of transition to seek God’s guidance regarding how they would continue to support His work among the AIDS children in South Africa.

When we think beyond the four walls of the church and view the world as in need of our spiritual gifts, then our horizons broaden greatly and there is more than enough work for everyone. Do we have the gift of teaching? Teach that unsaved neighbor next door. The gift of helps? Help the unsaved person. The gift of giving? Help the poor or homeless. When we limited the “work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4:12) to just ourselves and no one else, we thwart the exercise of the gifts the Lord has given. But, when we kick open the church door and see the world, the opportunities are immense. Just get busy serving the Lord. There’s plenty to do.

Life is a risk, and Epaphroditus risked it all for the service of Christ. Such activity is heroic, not foolish. All the Apostles died terrible deaths except John. They risked it all for Christ. They firmly believed, as did Epaphroditus, that if they risked everything for the kingdom of God, God would take care of them and their families. Heroes are ordinary people who step out by faith and risk everything for Jesus, not foolishly but thoughtfully and in a godly manner. Oh, would to God that the heroic spirit would grip us once again. The fields are white onto harvest but the laborers a too few. Go forth!

The Lord has been much glorified in what is happening in the ministries of Ambassadors International Ministries, Inc. (AIMI). As is always the case, the Lord who has ordained the ends has also ordained the means and one of the means to doing His will and for bringing glory to His name is prayer. Thank you for praying for this ministry and those who are the hands and feet of this ministry. Do you remember the phrase: “little is much when God is in it”? We at Ambassadors cannot really convey the excitement we are experiencing as we watch the Lord work powerfully. We serve a sovereign, Almighty God who is pleased to work wonders with the few.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

As the verse says, God will supply our needs, not our wants, according to His riches. What a joy to watch Him do this day by day. Ambassadors does not exist to feed itself but rather to facilitate ministry globally. When we do so, we can watch the Lord supply all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. When you trust in men, you get what men can do. When you trust in organizations, you get what organizations can do. But, when we trust in the Lord, we see what the Lord can do. May this be our focus. God bless.

A sovereign God can do sovereign acts and the placing of His hand on one of His servants is something He does. Instead of asking what the secret of success is, we should be asking God to place his good hand on us as we walk and minister before Him. Be ready, however, to give yourself to seek the Word, to do it and to teach it to others. Then, and only then, will the hand of the Lord be upon us. Simple? Yes and no. The good news is that such a presence of God in our lives and ministries is possible. Let us beseech Him for His good hand. How wonderful to be able to say,

“The king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the Lord his God upon him.” Ezra 7:6

Oh may it be so with each of us in the coming days of ministry. Please do it Lord for Your glory!

The Pines Christian Care Centre exists to assist in caring for the children affected and infected and to diminish the spread of HIV infection in South Africa. The hope of Ambassadors is that this property will continue to be used for God’s glory by helping children, teens and adults through a holistic approach to ministry.

Perhaps today we will confront something that will cause us to question God’s goodness. Remember, we serve Him because we love Him, not because He makes everything run smoothly for us. Let us serve Him today because we love Him, not for what we can get from Him. He is so good!

Productivity is important in the plan of Christ as He goes about building His church in fulfillment of His sovereign declaration in Matthew 16. Our Lord is not slack in doing His work around the world. We will never know the full extent of the church building work of Christ until we reach heaven’s shore. When we do see the results, we will be amazed. Right now, Christ is rapidly building His church in China, Africa and parts of Asia. Christ is no loser. He is the sovereign church builder who is doing a fantastic job. We as His people have the privilege of partnering with Him in this work. He freely invites us to “follow Him” as He moves through time and space.

5 reasons why Ambassadors needs to be engaged in rescuing the children:

Reach - Faith-based organizations (FBO’s) have a very broad presence. FBO’s operate between 40-50% of all the health care and educational facilities on the continent of Africa. The World Bank estimates they have the capacity to reach 95% of the poor, when facilitated to do so.

Call - As a part of practicing their faith, most people in religious communities are called to serve and care for their neighbors or other people in need. This mandate of faith is an important and sustaining motivation factor in the prevention and care for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Sustainability - Long after government programs have finished or non-government organizations (NGO’s) have left the arena, faith institutions remain and are a permanent part of the foundation of local communities and societies at large.

Moral Voice - Because HIV is primarily contracted through sex, addressing sexual behaviors is one of the most important parts of prevention. Faith institutions speak to the deepest human values and beliefs, and are thus best positioned to speak with authority to the intimate practices of individuals and communities.

Hope - Faith-based organizations address issues of the spirit, which is at the core of nurturing and restoring hope for those living with HIV/AIDS, and those who have been orphaned by it. In AIMI’s experience in the field, those who have hope are the best advocates for prevention.

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. May He be honored, His kingdom furthered and His will be done on earth. Find out how you can help.
