A New Van for The Pines

We continuously praise the Lord for His blessings on the Pines Christian Care Center for Children in Welkom, South Africa. The Pines is a Christian home for children that have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic that is ravaging South Africa. Twenty children now call the Pines home and preparations are being made to accommodate more children. Almost daily, children are found wandering the streets because they have been abandoned or are living alone with no one to care for them. At the Pines, we provide a loving, healthy environment where these children can find a home and strive for a future. The children are transported daily by a van to a Christian school that they attend and every Sunday morning all of the children, the housemothers and staff are transported by a van to church. Apart from transportation to school and church, there are many other uses for the van.
Toyota Quantum
With the growing number of children, the Pines now has the immense need for a second van. The cost for the second van will be $30,000. The van is a Quantum made by Toyota and has seating for 15 passengers, which with the current van would accommodate the current number of children, housemothers and staff at the Pines. We are trusting that the Lord will provide the funds to purchase this much needed van as soon as possible.
By investing in the van, you are investing in the children’s lives at the Pines. The van will provide each child the opportunity to live in an atmosphere that is safe and secure, as well as provide the children the opportunity to attend a school and church where they will learn truths surrounding the love of the Lord. Any contribution to this special project is greatly appreciated and will further the goal of the Pines in showing compassion to these children and the community.
