Should I upgrade my browser?
Most problems/errors you experience on this site and others can be fixed by upgrading your browser. Web browser upgrades are free. Here are some links to help you get an updated version of your browser.
Firefox (recommended – Windows, Mac, Linux)
Internet Explorer (Windows only)
Safari (Mac only)
We support many browsers, however our site has been tested and is known to appear best in Firefox 2.0+ and Internet Explorer 7.0+.
What are PDFs and how do I read them?
PDF stands for Portable Document File. It’s an established way of publishing documents on the web and retaining their original printed look. We’ve used PDFs on the site for forms for certain services for you to print off and return to us by mail or e-mail.
Our updated PDFs are fill-in forms you can type into with your browser and save the information you enter for your records or to e-mail back to us. To work correctly you may need to use Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may download this for free here.
What is RSS and how can I subscribe to your site with it?
RSS is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related web sites, weblogs (“blogs”) and other online publishers use it as an alternative (or supplement) to e-mail lists to deliver updates to interested people.
We use RSS “feeds” to publish the “From the President” material, such as news updates, devotionals, or discussion items as they are published on our web site. To receive these feeds, you need to subscribe to them from feed reader software or a web-based news service (such as Google Reader or NewsGator). Some programs, such as Firefox (with Sage extension) and certain e-mail programs (Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook 2007) can also be used as feed readers. A link to our newsfeeds is in the footer of every page, and a link to follow comments on a particular entry via RSS is on each entry page above the comments.
An ever-increasing number of sites offer this option, so it is possible you would be able to receive news or media podcasts from AIMI as well as many other places on the web you like to visit in one location using RSS. For a fuller explanation of this technology, you may want to visit the Wikipedia entry on the subject.
