Where We Serve
HIV/AIDS presents sub-Saharan Africa with what is undoubtedly the region’s greatest social and health crisis in living memory. Ambassadors has begun its global work in areas where the need is among the greatest.
South Africa
The Republic of South Africa is the southernmost country on the African continent. Roughly twice the size of Texas, South Africa is rich in natural beauty, diverse culture and plentiful resources, but faces great challenges with poverty, huge gaps in employment and economic development, and the AIDS pandemic. South Africa has more people with HIV/AIDS than any other country in the world.

Cameroon
The Republic of Cameroon is a central African nation a bit larger than the state of California. In addition to its French and British colonial past, there are over 130 ethnic groups in the country speaking dozens of languages. Islam and Christianity compete for souls, as do an array of traditional animist beliefs. HIV/AIDS has also hit hard, including an estimated 240,000 children orphaned by the pandemic (UNAIDS report, 2005).
